The Series 2 "Horizon Decades" playlist features a tricky Treasure Hunt hidden deep within the freezing mountains. Finding a tiny treasure chest when the entire northern side of the map is covered in white can be a bit brutal. The only clue the game gives you is a simple menu photograph showing a blue crate sitting next to an isolated wooden cabin with snowy peaks in the background.


Thankfully, the search area is much smaller than it looks. Here is exactly where you need to steer your wheels.

Where is the Sotoyama Region Treasure Chest?


To locate the hidden cabin, look at the very top of your world map. The Sotoyama region sits at the far northern edge, directly above the Takashiro area and northeast of Tokyo City.


You need to drive toward the far northwest section of this snowy zone. The treasure is located right on one of the off-road ski trails, sitting very close to the Alpine Heights danger sign and the Off Piste wristband event.



Step-by-Step Guide to Complete the Challenge


Follow these simple steps to secure your prize:


  1. Pick the Right Vehicle: The mountain paths are steep and slippery. We highly recommend equipping snow tires and choosing a powerful all-wheel-drive (AWD) vehicle or a strong rear-wheel-drive car to handle the incline.


  2. Drive Up the Ski Trails: Head off-road into the northwestern slopes of Sotoyama. Follow the snowy ski paths climbing up the mountain.


  3. Smash the Chest: Look for a lone wooden cabin alongside the final roads near the map's boundary line. You will need to break through a few wooden posts to reach it. The bright blue treasure box is sitting right next to the cabin wall. Simply crash your car straight into it!

Taking a two-minute detour to smash this chest gives your profile a massive boost. Completing the challenge instantly rewards you with:


  • 3 Festival Playlist Points

  • 5,000 XP

  • 100,000 Credits



These playlist points are incredibly valuable right now. They count directly toward your Series 2 winter rewards, helping you unlock elite rides like the legendary 1993 Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau and the 2018 Lotus Exige Cup 430.
